Malas, Manifestations, and 108 Sun Salutations

  • Green Tea Yoga 10 Colonial Road Salem, MA, 01970 United States (map)

Join Jacalynn Willett and Chrissy Vaccaro for a half day workshop focusing on the rising solar energy of newly blossomed spring.  A mala is a garland of 108 beads and is used to keep count while reciting prayers or mantras during meditation. The mala is used so that the practitioner may focus on the meaning of a mantra, or any meditative activity, rather than keeping count. Its a very freeing experience that opens the heart and mind.  And through intense focus, we realize the power to manifest resides in all of us. The power of our thoughts and the intention behind our thoughts can manifest exactly what we need.  When we tap into our creativity and connect with intention, magic happens!

We will craft our own vision boards (supplies included in price of workshop) to solidify our intentions and connection for manifestation, and then amplify our personal practice and internal energy by symbolically creating a mala with 108 sun salutations.  We will ease into this special vinyasa flow with a gentle warm up before moving into the Yoga Mala: 108 sun salutations (Surya Namaskar A and B).  There is no pressure to do all 108.  It is a beautiful moving meditation that cleanses the body and stimulates the movement of prana, and we encourage you to take the flow to your level of comfort in the safety of sangha, our community of practice.  Your personally crafted vision board may be used as a meditation focal point throughout your practice that guides your toward manifesting your intentions!  Class will conclude with juicy restorative poses and gentle essential oil massage.  Each participant will receive a mini roller bottle of a special spring essential oil blend that will stimulate and soothe the senses as we move out of winter and into the full bloom of spring!
